This owl was a resident at the Alabama Wildlife Center where they rehabilitate all kinds of critters. They had a baby fox and some baby squirrels that they will release back into the wild once they're old enough.

On Saturday we went horseback riding on one of the forest trails near the campsite.

This weekend we went camping with the boys and the dog at Oak Mountain State Park in Alabama. Other than a little rain, it was beautiful!

I'll tell you what. Chris and I grilled again on the little grill, and Jackson positioned himself under the table it was sitting on to lick the drippings. But we weren't finished grilling so now he's covered in steak and scallop juice, and he looks like roadkill.

Listen to this kid play the trumpet - he's really good! Chris and I went to the French Quarter on Saturday, but since I haven't taken any pictures all week, I'll use the empty days for Saturday's pictures.

This was one of the only pictures i took in NOWHERE, MS (a.k.a Tunica). I went with Chris on a work trip and it was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. I'm not all that picky (I can sleep on a plane, I can sleep in a car, I can sleep on the floor where I fell in a bar) but this place was a real piece. The sheets felt like they were made out of burlap, and every time I moved in the night, they were so LOUD because they were so cheap and crunchy that several times in my sleep haze I actually started brushing off the bed because I thought I had left some work papers under the covers and was rolling on them. The sad part was that we were only 20 miles from Memphis and never even went!

last weekend, i got this awesome scanner that i used to scan a bunch of chris's dad's old slides and it worked great! so i can't take credit for taking the pictures, but they were so cool i had to put them up.
